Children teaching walking meditation

This morning it was a dark sort of morning with the promise of rain. My daughter and I went for a walk and along the way there were all sorts of brilliantly colored (fiery red, burnt yellow, lime green) leaves on the ground. Some in piles, others strewn here and there. I was captivated for several minutes, it seems now, noticing all the colors that I even attempted a poem which I can't quite remember now. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that for some time we were appreciating what was around us and we were just there on that walk. And I began to realize that it was our longest actual walk, with Valentina walking and not with me walking and pushing her in the stroller.

I could sense rain was coming our way and sure enough it began to spatter. Not many people were outside and it was just a perfect morning walk. We came back in time to avoid more of a downpour.
