Currently my daughter is teaching me the virtue of patience. For instance, she has never been terribly fond of nap time and in these recent days putting her to sleep is a test of my patience and endurance. Usually it takes up to three or four spaced out tries before she finally goes to sleep. And god forbid the phone rings or any distraction occurs. Before becoming a mother I considered myself very patient, but now I realize this was never really so. The nap challenge could be due to the fact that is has been unbearably cold this week keeping us inside the house much more than I or she would like. There is only so much vigorous activity to be done indoors. As she is approaching "the 2's" I will continue asking the universe for much needed patience.
